Stunning Painted Pinnacles: Nature's Masterpieces
In Crater Lake National Park, towering pinnacles rise above the water's surface, formed by thermal activity around a dormant volcano. These tricolored formations, called fossil fumaroles, were once gas vents that compressed surrounding sediment, creating layers of pumice and scoria.
