Polio: A Historical Threat We Must Not Forget

A line graph from Our World in Data shows reported paralytic polio cases (blue line) and deaths (red line) in the United States from 1910 to 2019. The graph visually demonstrates a dramatic decline in both cases and deaths after the mid-20th century, with the blue line dropping to near zero after 1960. The caption text is verbatim: 'Reported paralytic polio cases and deaths, United States, 1910 to 2019'.
