A Glimpse into a Life of Crime

A sepia-toned historical mugshot of a young man with a surprised expression, holding a card with the number 5. The image is overlaid with the text 'Faces from Barlinnie's Victorian past brought to life online' and a caption identifying him as John Porter, photographed upon release in March 1883. The photo is credited to the National Records of Scotland.
