Unearthing a Mysterious Book from an Old Doctor's Home

An open book displays a historical woodcut illustration from Andreas Vesalius's 'De Humani Corporis Fabrica,' showing a crowded lecture hall where a central figure performs a dissection on a cadaver while an audience watches. The image is framed by ornate columns and Latin text at the top and bottom. A person's hands hold the book open, and their legs are visible at the bottom of the frame. The overlaid text reads 'ANDREAE VESALII BRUXELLensis, SCHOLAE medicorum Patavinæ profìtoris, fuorum de Humani corporis fabrica librorum EPITOME'.
