Scientists simulate a desert environment for locusts and connect them to a computer to unlock the mysteries of their brains

A grasshopper perches on a black-and-white spotted ball, facing a robotic arm equipped with a syringe-like apparatus. The background is a plain mint-green wall with a white baseboard, where several other grasshoppers are visible in the distance. The robotic arm is mounted on a metal stand and appears to be aimed at the grasshopper. The scene is brightly lit, suggesting a controlled environment like a lab or exhibit.
