A Glimpse into History: A WWII Letter from a Chemical Warfare Soldier to His Loved Ones

A yellowed, handwritten letter dated Friday Eve, June 5, 1942, written in cursive on aged paper. The letter, addressed to 'Dear Folks,' details the writer's recent move to a military camp, mentions a new address, and notes that some friends are leaving to build a new camp called Joliet. The writer also mentions being unable to pick up small items like screws and mentions sending pictures, with a humorous note about 'Mary for Phil's folks.'
