The Final Destination for Salmon
The Fraser River flows 850 miles through British Columbia, carving gorges and irrigating fertile farmland in its scenic journey. Before reaching its final destination in the Strait of Georgia, it passes Rearguard Falls, 60 miles from its highland headwaters and 800 miles from the ocean. Here, spawning salmon from the Pacific migrate the farthest up the river. The rapids appear turquoise due to glacial runoff from nearby mountains, including Mount Robson, Canada's highest peak. #FraserRiver #BritishColumbiaLandscapes #SalmonMigration é phototropic / E+/ Getty Images Telegram: https://t.me/s/MomentsFeed BlueSky (New): https://momentsfeed.bsky.social X (Twitter): https://x.com/MomentsFeed
