If Only Banks Were Still Here with Us

The image displays a block of text from Iain M. Banks' novel 'Use of Weapons,' featuring a dialogue between two characters, Erens and another unnamed speaker. The text is presented in a plain black font on a white background, with no images or illustrations. The passage discusses how people cling to their beliefs despite being proven wrong, attributing their resistance to excuses and justifications rather than the core belief itself. The quote ends with the speaker telling Erens he attacked the wrong thing, implying the real issue is the belief, not the excuses.
