Understanding the concept of a demagogue

The image displays a block of text from an opinion piece by Eli Merritt, arguing that 'demagogue' is a more fitting term than 'fascist' for current political figures. It includes definitions from historian Reinhard Luthin (1954) and law professor Eric A. Posner, describing demagogues as manipulative politicians who exploit emotions and social divisions to gain power. The text is presented in a simple, clean font on a light background with a faint grid pattern, resembling a printed article or screen capture.
